Abstract

Nandan is widely read owing to his rich, delightful, emotional, intense, sophisticated, and deeply impressive works. His wit and conviction are quite inspiring. His works and diction reflect the strength of his character. He stands firm as an epitome of girmit grief. He has spent his life for the development of his country and has travelled the world in pursuit of his academic interests. He is a marvellous writer and has had a phenomenal journey. His is the journey for existence and identity, full of practical experiences. He got immensely influenced by his past and present. His personal life is entwined with his writings. His surroundings seem to be the single largest influence on his creative writing. His values and beliefs also influence his works. His literary oeuvre dips into the experiences of life. His productive literary creations symbolize a journey from childhood to maturity with a literary career. Being a descendant of the girmitya ancestors, Satendra Nandan has travelled a long road of hardships before attaining name and fame worldwide. He can be described as a poet who truly represents national and international events and objects using literature intending to share his real and imaginative experience. The literary and political impact of Fiji, Australia, and India are unprecedented. In Fiji, his works continue to serve as a source of national self–understanding.
