Abstract

This study examines how an ancient Indian text called Shukraniti, written by Shukracharya, can guide modern compensation management. It explores how Shukraniti’s ideas, like fairness, rewarding merit, and duty based pay, can shape todays human resources practices, especially in designing salary systems. The research uses a qualitative and descriptive approach to analyzing specific verses from Shukraniti and comparing them to modern strategies like performing based pay, rewards and ethical wage systems. By studying the text and drawing comparisons, the study finds that Shukraniti’s ethical principles align well with the global [push for fair and transparent compensation. It suggests that using ancient Indian wisdom can create a culturally grounded and ethical framework for modern HR practices. The study adds to the field of Indian management ideas and promotes a values driven approach to designing compensation systems.
