Ancient Indian texts, particularly the Ramayan and Mahabharat offer profound insights into leadership, demonstrating remarkable relevance to contemporary contexts. This study delves into the leadership styles of two iconic figures, Lord Ram and Lord Krishna, examining their decision-making processes, strategic thinking and interpersonal relationships. A comparative analysis with the principles outlined in the Arthashastra, an ancient Indian treatise on statecraft, economic policy, and military strategy by Kautilya (Chanakya), provides a comprehensive understanding of leadership dynamics.
