Exploring the link between Spiritual Intelligence and Emotional Maturity among B.Ed. Students: Implications for Teacher Education

Emotional maturity, the ability to understand, regulate, and express emotions appropriately and spiritual intelligence, the capacity to find meaning, purpose, and interconnectedness in life are essential for fostering resilience, empathy, and holistic well-being in personal and social contexts. The aim of the present study is to investigate the relationship between spiritual intelligence and emotional maturity of B.Ed. Students. For this, the survey method is considered the most appropriate and scientific method for conducting the study and a sample of 424 B.Ed. students were taken. The study finds that there exists a positive relationship between spiritual intelligence and emotional maturity among B.Ed. students. Approximately 17.45% of B.Ed. students show high levels of Spiritual Intelligence, while about 19.34% exhibit low levels. Additionally, around 15.57% of B.Ed. students display high levels of Emotional Maturity, with 15.80% showing low levels. The findings recommend that organizations should take a whole-person approach to teacher education, emphasizing the development of emotional and cognitive resilience, spiritual awareness, and the capacity to make moral decisions. Educators can create inclusive learning environments by considering individual and cultural differences in developing Spiritual Intelligence and Emotional Maturity. Also, teacher preparation programs that foster cultural sensitivity and empathy can better prepare them to work with kids from various backgrounds.
